Our 3 Ingredients For Yogurt Smoothie With Fresh Fruits
We use only 3 ingredients for this healthy, nutritious, and quick smoothie.
- Yogurt – we make our own yogurt from scratch. See how you can do it yourself. It only takes 1 minute of your time!! Yogurt is rich in protein, calcium, live bacteria, potassium, and probiotics. It is really good for your tummy where 70% of your immune system lives.
- Banana – we use a fresh banana that is very rich in potassium, Vitamins B and C. It gives the smoothie a sweet taste without needing added sugars. It also makes the texture smooth and pleasant.
- Blackberries – fresh blackberries are an antioxidant superfood. They also contain potassium, calcium, and Vitamins A, B, C, and E. We love using blackberries for our smoothies not only because of their nutritional superpowers but because they make the color purple. My kids are in love with this color and would drink almost anything that is pink and purple!

Water As A Smoothie Ingredient
We love plain water. Check our post about water to learn more about why it is so healthy to drink water. We use plain water to make the smoothie more fluid. That way it is more pleasant for drinking. Without the extra liquid, it is chunky. Feel free to use other liquids to smooth out the texture. Some examples are coconut water, coconut milk, almond milk, sesame milk, and even cow milk. Just make sure you do like the taste of those liquids and especially when combined with yogurt. I don’t like coconut water with any of my smoothies. I just don’t like the taste of it.
Using water also allows you to control how watery you like your smoothie. I like my smoothies running, but if you like yours thicker, then reduce the water amount in the smoothie.
Equipment For Yogurt Smoothie With Fresh Fruits
We use a blender for smoothies. It is quicker, has less equipment to wash, and the cup transfers as a drinking container. You can also use a food processor. My husband loves the food processor for smoothies because he puts tons of ingredients that otherwise won’t fit into a single blender cup holder. You could also try other mixing equipment if you don’t have a food processor or a blender. Mixer or a hand mixer, for instance, is another alternative.
