This is a super easy delicious slow cooked ham, potato and corn chowder. It is rich in so many nutrients – potassium, fiber, protein, calcium, iron, vitamin C and B, manganese, phosphorus, pantothenic acid and carotenoids, such as lutein and zeaxanthin, selenium, zinc, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and choline. It is a great comfort food we enjoy especially on cold days.

My kids weren’t a big fan of this soup when I had more milk in it to make it look more white. They preferred this version of the chowder with the more rainbow-looking colors. If your family is more used to the chowder white version, then just substitute some of the water with milk. At the end of the day, we do eat first with our eyes so it is important how the food looks like.
