  • Sesame milk – we use unsweetened original unflavored sesame milk for this smoothie. It makes the smoothie’s texture more fluid, smooth, and creamy. I do not like drinking sesame milk straight from a glass. It has a nutty and strange taste for my liking. I can’t just sit down and sip on it as I do with cow’s milk. Hence, I use it for smoothies and it is a wonder. It is very rich in plant-based calcium, magnesium, iron, Vitamin D, and more nutrients. I love to balance my family’s diets and making smoothies with sesame milk brings more variety.
  • Banana – we use a banana for this smoothie. It makes the smoothie naturally sweetened, it blends really well without leaving any chunks, and, of course, bananas are nutrient too. They are a great source of potassium, fiber, magnesium, and vitamins. We use bananas in our recipes often.
  • Strawberries – this fruit is an antioxidant wizard. We love using strawberries for our smoothies not only because they are very nutritious, but also they make the color of the smoothie pink. My kids love drinking “pink” smoothies. After all, we first eat with our eyes. I grew up picking strawberries with my mom in our garden. When I eat them decades later, it brings those fond memories in me. I would sneak into the bucket to eat fresh tasty strawberries just picked up from the garden before my mom makes jelly or a drink from them.

  • Gently rub 6 strawberries under cold running water
  • Scrub 1 banana with a clean vegetable brush under running  water. Peel it.

  • We use plain water for this recipe. Feel free to use any other liquid to make the smoothie more fluid. For example, coconut water, almond milk, cow’s milk.
  • We use blender for this recipe. You can also try using food processor, hand mixer or anything that will blend all the ingredients together really well.
  • The serving of this recipe is 1 smoothie of 28 oz. You can reduce the water for thicker smoothie that will yield less total oz. The nutrient values will remain the same.
