Our peach and yogurt smoothie is so tasty and rich in nutrients that we often include it in our weekly diet. We are now entering the flu season. When my kids come down with the stomach bug I love using this recipe to get some probiotics into their tummies.

I make yogurt at home to avoid all the additions that store-bought yogurts have. Believe it or not, it is super easy to make yogurt at home with literally less than 5 active minutes in the kitchen. You don’t even need any special equipment to make yogurt! Yes, indeed, I don’t use a yogurt maker. I just use blankets to keep the yogurt warm for a day.

Since I make my yogurt myself, I don’t add any additional sugars. Hence, my kids sometimes may not want to eat the yogurt right out of the jar. I have used several combinations to incentivize my kids to eat it. This peach and yogurt smoothie is one of them. Most often, I use fresh fruit to sweeten the yogurt. In this recipe, I use fresh peach. They can also drink it on the go instead of sitting down and eating yogurt. In the end, isn’t fruit yogurt one of the most used store-bought yogurts? In this case, I just make it myself in a much healthier way. Here are some of our other combinations with yogurt:

Nutritious Ingredients for Peach and Yogurt Smoothie

Fresh Peach

Fresh peaches are great fruits. Believe it or not, sometimes my kids won’t eat it. Especially, if they come with the “furry” meaning “not smooth” peel. In this recipe, we add those not so much wanted excellent-in nutrients peaches to yogurt. That way my kids eat the peach and get some super nutrient yogurt. Peach is rich in Vitamins A, C, E, K, niacin, iron, folate, phosphorus, choline, manganese, magnesium, copper, and zinc.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a super-food. It is high in protein, calcium, Vitamins B, and D, probiotics, live cultures, magnesium, phosphorus, iodine, zinc, and potassium. Yogurt nutrients are so many that we dedicated an article just explaining what they are and how they help us thrive. Read more about the yogurt nutrients and their benefits. We also wrote an article about how those nutrients strengthen our bodies. Learn more about how yogurt can benefit your health.

Orange blend

We make our homemade orange bland from fresh oranges. We first make juice from them and then dry the pulp in our dehydrator. Once dried, we grind them with the oyster blender on grind speed, and boom, we have a very healthy addition to food, drinks, and whatnot.

We realize you may not have done our special blend, so if you still want to add nutrients from oranges, you can use orange powder or orange peel. In fact, add other nutrients as long as you like the taste.

Equipment for Peach and Yogurt Smoothie

  • Blender – We use a blender to make this smoothie. There are many types of blenders you can use (see below). I often use the personal blender since the smoothie is ready in a cup to drink or the Oster blender.
  • Vegetable brush – I use a vegetable brush for the peach in this recipe. Since I am not peeling the peach and using the whole fruit for this recipe, I use the brush to get rid of as many chemicals, pesticides, etc that can be found on the outer of a fruit.
